I'll never understand why Lindsay Lohan does what she does.
Her public image couldn't be worse. She gets no positive press. Choosing a role like the character she plays in Georgia Rule is a dangerous decision. By playing an uber-brat who basically acts like a whore, Lindsay risks cementing that image into the minds of the audience as who she is in real life.
I didn't see much dignity in her role in Georgia Rule. It was one of the trashiest characters I've ever seen in film. And what's worse is that the characteristics of the character match-up exactly with the person the media insists that Lindsay is.
That's why taking this part probably wasn't the best decision Lindsay could have made.
Georgia Rule had to be one of the strangest, most disjointed movies I've ever seen. Not only was it annoyingly undecided as to whether it wanted to be a comedy or a drama, but it was also deceptively marketed - almost deviously. It opened on Mother's Day weekend. The trailer basically said, "Mothers, take your daughters to see this heart-warming film about three generations of women who overcome their differences and unite." This film is incredibly family-inapropriate. It totally earns its R-rating and was downright trashy.
Strange movie. Strange career choice.

Ohhhhh dear. Let's hope Dmitri doesn't read this entry, Jess.
Not a strange choice at all. And let's not forget - quite a professionally delicious departure from Mean Girls.
